President Bola Ahmed Tinubu left Lagos on Sunday, December 28, 2025 for Europe. The trip is part of his end‑of‑year holiday, but it also prepares him for an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in early January.
Tinubu has been invited by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit 2026. The summit will bring together world leaders, businesses, and experts to discuss climate change, renewable energy, and sustainable development.
The theme for the 2026 summit is “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go”, focusing on innovation, finance, and human capital. Tinubu is expected to use the platform to highlight Nigeria’s role in global sustainability efforts and to seek partnerships that could support Nigeria’s energy transition.
He is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit concludes in January.
