Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen said in a recent interview that he’d like to go back to school and earn a
university degree once his football career is over. He pointed out that a playing career only lasts so long — maybe 20 to 25 years — so it’s smart to think ahead to what comes after. Osimhen said that even though he already has other things to fall back on financially, getting a degree would still mean a lot to him personally, and he’d like to set an example for younger people who might think success and education are mutually exclusive. He also encouraged anyone who had to drop out of school for financial or personal reasons not to give up on the idea, saying it’s something you can always return to later in life. He didn’t say what he’d want to study or when he plans to start.
