Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India’s strong support for Israel, declaring that New Delhi stands “firmly” with the country during his official visit.

Speaking alongside Israeli leaders, Modi emphasised the deep strategic partnership between India and Israel, highlighting co-operation in defence, technology, agriculture and counter-terrorism. He described the bilateral relationship as built on shared democratic values and mutual security interests.

The visit comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, with Israel facing complex security challenges. Modi expressed solidarity with the Israeli people and reiterated India’s condemnation of terrorism, while also underscoring the importance of stability and long-term peace in the region.

India and Israel have significantly strengthened ties over the past decade, expanding collaboration beyond defence into innovation, water management, cybersecurity and trade. Israel remains one of India’s key defence suppliers, while Indian companies have increased investments in Israeli technology sectors.

Analysts note that India has carefully balanced its historic ties with Arab nations alongside its growing partnership with Israel. Modi’s remarks signal continuity in India’s foreign policy approach — maintaining strategic autonomy while deepening relationships based on national interest.

The visit is expected to further consolidate economic and security co-operation between the two countries, reinforcing a partnership that has become a central pillar of India’s engagement in the Middle East.
