Proxy war intensifies in Sudan

Table of Content

Foreign powers are increasingly backing the two main warring groups in Sudan — the army under Abdel Fattah al‑Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under Mohamed Hamdan Daglo. Countries like the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Egypt and Chad are reported to have indirect roles via weapons, mercenaries or logistics.

The conflict has displaced millions, created a humanitarian crisis, and raised fears that regional stability could be further undermined.
