Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that its upcoming AI chip — dubbed AI5 — will be manufactured by both Samsung Electronics (in their Texas facility) and TSMC (in Arizona). Musk emphasized Tesla isn’t trying to replace Nvidia Corporation, but aims to scale its chip production and reduce supply chain dependencies.
