Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy sector using drones and missiles, knocking out power to around 270,000 people in Kyiv and affecting nine regions. In the city of Zaporizhzhia, at least a seven-year-old child was killed when apartment buildings were hit by missiles and drones. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack used over 450 drones and 30 missiles. He emphasised the need for stronger air-defence support from Western allies.
