Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez in a civil ceremony in Portugal, the couple announced on social media Tuesday.
The ceremony took place in Cascais, a coastal resort town near Lisbon, and was attended by the couple’s five children, according to the Brunswick Group, which handles Ronaldo’s public relations. The firm described the event as “a private and intimate moment.”
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, posted a joint photograph on Instagram showing their wedding rings, captioned “C ❤ G.” The announcement came a year to the day after Rodríguez publicly confirmed their engagement in August 2025.
The couple met in Madrid in 2017, when Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store, and have been together for nearly a decade. Rodríguez later starred in the Netflix series “I Am Georgina,” documenting the family’s life.
The wedding followed weeks of speculation in the Portuguese press over its timing and location, with reports at one point suggesting Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace, before the ceremony ultimately took place in Cascais.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner who has played for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Portugal’s national team, currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr. He married four days before Al Nassr’s season opener and shortly after Portugal’s exit from the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16.
