Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, have resolved their long-running dispute with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over unpaid bonuses, paving the way for a renewed focus on their 2026 World Cup campaign.

For weeks, the players had protested delayed payments, even skipping training sessions. The NFF has now confirmed that all outstanding bonuses and allowances have been settled following meetings in Abuja.

A senior player said, “We play for pride, not just payment — but fairness matters. We’re happy it’s finally settled.”

The football federation also introduced a new digital payment system to ensure transparency and prevent future disputes — a move sports analysts describe as a step toward accountability.

With morale restored, the Super Eagles can now concentrate on their performance as they seek to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Fans across the country are hopeful that unity off the field will translate into success on it.
