The minister for FCT,Barr.Nyesom Wike has firmly rejected claims that he is working on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilize the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Speaking amid ongoing tensions within the opposition party, the former Rivers State governor stated that suggestions he has been “planted” by the APC are unfounded and politically motivated. He emphasized that his actions and positions remain guided by his interpretation of party principles and national interest.

Wike, a prominent figure within the PDP, has been at the center of internal disputes that have exposed divisions within the party. His recent political moves and outspoken stance on party leadership issues have fueled speculation about his alignment and long-term intentions.

In response, he maintained that disagreement within a political party should not be mistaken for disloyalty, arguing that internal criticism is essential for strengthening democratic institutions.

The controversy highlights broader challenges facing the PDP as it seeks to maintain cohesion and remain competitive in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape. Analysts note that resolving internal differences will be critical to the party’s future prospects.

As political realignments continue to shape the country’s opposition space, Wike’s remarks underscore the ongoing struggle for influence and direction within one of Nigeria’s major political parties.
