Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has reacted to the recent diplomatic tensions involving Nigerians in South Africa, emphasizing the need to protect the rights, safety, and dignity of Nigerian citizens living and working abroad.
Speaking amid growing public concern over reported incidents affecting Nigerians in South Africa, Ojukwu reiterated the Nigerian government’s commitment to engaging South African authorities through diplomatic channels to ensure that all grievances are addressed in accordance with international law and bilateral agreements.
She stressed that while Nigeria values its longstanding relationship with South Africa, both countries must remain vigilant against actions that could undermine mutual trust and cooperation.
