The Israeli military said its forces have located and demolished several Hezbollah weapons depots and military infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon in recent operations, as Israel continues to enforce the terms of a fragile ceasefire with the Iran-backed group.

Israeli troops most recently destroyed a fortified underground tunnel network in the village of Majdal Zoun, about 10 kilometers from the Israeli border. The military said the compound, built more than 25 meters below ground and stretching over 200 meters, contained hundreds of weapons, including dismantled drones, warheads and explosives, along with four launch shafts aimed at Israeli territory. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the operation, dubbed “Sof Pasuk,” was carried out after Washington was notified in advance, and described it as a major blow to Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure in the sector.

The IDF said the village had been used by Hezbollah as an observation and staging point during the war, with hundreds of weapons and a dozen rooms discovered inside the structure. Israeli forces killed more than 20 Hezbollah fighters, including members of the group’s elite Radwan Force, during the operation to secure the area.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir also toured the Beaufort Ridge area on Sunday, calling it a site “saturated with terror infrastructure” built by Hezbollah over decades with Iranian financing. He said Israeli forces now control the ridge both above and below ground, and called on the Lebanese army to fulfill its commitment under the security framework to clear remaining Hezbollah presence from the area.

Hezbollah has denounced the continued Israeli operations as ceasefire violations. The group’s leader, Naim Qassem, has rejected the broader security arrangement and vowed to continue armed resistance, while Israel says it will keep operating in what it calls the security zone in southern Lebanon until it deems the threat from Hezbollah removed.
