🌍 UN REPORT WARNS: WORLD NEARING POINT OF NO RETURN ON CLIMATE TARGETS

Table of Content

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) issued a stark warning today, declaring that the planet is on course to exceed the 1.5 °C global-warming threshold unless nations drastically accelerate emission-cutting efforts.

According to the latest report, global greenhouse gas emissions must decline by 45 % before 2030 to stay within manageable climate limits — a goal that currently appears “dangerously off-track.” The UNEP cautioned that without transformative action, extreme weather events, droughts, and rising sea levels will intensify at unprecedented rates.

The report calls for immediate global cooperation, green-energy investments, and stricter enforcement of carbon-reduction pledges. It frames climate change not just as an environmental issue but as the defining geopolitical and economic challenge of this century.
