The United States has confirmed military strikes against Iranian radar positions and drone-control
infrastructure in the areas of Goruk and Qeshm Island, signaling a sharp increase in tensions between the two countries.
According to US officials, the operation targeted facilities believed to be involved in monitoring regional airspace and coordinating unmanned aircraft activities. Washington said the action was intended to reduce threats to American forces and commercial shipping operating in and around the Gulf.
Iran condemned the strikes, describing them as a violation of its sovereignty, and warned that continued military pressure could have serious consequences for regional stability. Iranian authorities also rejected aspects of the US explanation for the operation.
The incident adds to growing uncertainty in the Middle East at a time when diplomatic efforts to lower tensions remain fragile. Security analysts warn that further military exchanges could increase risks to energy supplies, maritime traffic, and broader regional security.
While both sides continue to defend their actions, international observers are urging restraint to prevent the situation from developing into a wider confrontation.
